I am obviously uninspired

I have had this blog for coming up on two years now. For about a year and a half I tried to write every day. I was going out anywhere between 3-5 nights a week which provided plenty of material for blog posts.

Sadly I've replaced going out with The Bachelor and triathlon training. I only try and go out one night a week to save some cash and when I do go out it usually involves nothing too exciting.

I think this blog hit it's peak last summer, and that makes me mildly sad, but still a little indifferent. I see new blogs, better blogs, popping up all the time. It's the Circle of Blogs (oh sweet jesus I am sorry for typing that).

Stick around if you like, if you are the type who are going to be leaving anonymous comments about "this blog sucks now" please go now. I'm not quitting, but I no longer have the desire to post everyday. Sure, there might be some weeks when I do post every day, but more than likely that won't be the case.

I have a feeling this blog will (d)evolve back into an outlet for my friends to keep track of me and less a forum for the masses to peak in on my drunken antics. And I'm ok with that.

Anyways...thanks for reading.

Welcome to my little corner of the blogosphere...

Blogging is much more fun when its not forced and when you do it for yourself and close friends, not for a huge audience of people you don't know (people who know little to nothing about who you really are).

I'm excited for your future posts.

I, too, have found you recently and I sit right with you when you rant. I have enjoyed it. Be true.

More power to you, I say. You know my thoughts on the subject.

That said, I'll believe it when I see it. I think you're too hooked on blogging. I don't think you can make yourself stop.

Next, on a very special episode of Intervention...

Yes, uninspired blogging is no fun at all. I've been checking in for a few months, and reading to my great delight and amusement. Keep it up... at your own convenience and leisure, of course.

This blog needs to return to its true strengths: knives and coffee pots.

While I certainly don't want you to write when you don't want to, I will admit that it sucks you won't be posting as much. I have enjoyed this, more than you could imagine. It gives me a smile while at work, and gives me a peak into both a fellow Hawkeye's life, a fellow BHGP'ers life, and a girl who seems to have a pretty good head on her shoulder's life. Best of luck, DMB, I'll read whatever you post.

I love your posts but I like the comments thread even better. You've got some great readers.

Sad day! I just found this blog a little while ago too and I'm addicted to it. I think I found it through Hobocamp, who rules. Anyway, I've got you on my RSS so I hope to see your witticisms soon.

ok everyone can relax. I didn't say I was quitting, I just can't keep up the daily posts anymore.

Maybe I can in the future, but I need a break.

That being said, my life is still interesting enough for a couple posts a week.

Blogging is not as easy as it looks, especially good blogging like what goes on here.

He means me. Thanks, Sam.

I totally feel your pain. Not fun when you spend more time thinking about what to write than actually writing it. My blog has sucked for the better part of forever.

A YEAR AND A HALF OF DAILY POSTS? Jaysus. That's awesome. It's all I can do to write 1x a week, and trying to write every day is sucking my will to live lately. I'm stoked to read when you write. No hurries, no worries.

Your welcome!

I read the last line first (on accident!) and thought you were quitting, and I got all sad-pants.

Glad to see you're not going anywhere... and we will still all read whatever you put out there... because it's Awesome! (with a capital A, obviously)

The blog has always been awesome. I think the people who read it know enough about you to like you enough to want you to do whatever the heck you feel like.

If you are fortunate enough to have your name pulled in the lottery for the NYC marathon, you ought to publish something about 'Marathon' etiquette. There will be all sorts of people in your space!

Thankfully you're not too uninspired to write a post pleading for validation! Phew! Keep on truckin!

I think if nothing else you could totally post about the deliciousness of the Bachelor this season. That should give you PLENTY of material. ROWR!

Please say you will still let us peak at your drunken antics, thats my favorite part.

dmbmeg said...

well thank you everyone. I'll still post regularly, just not as regularly.

Except for Caitlyn and Mary Wittenberg--you guys are bitches!
